Good Evening Mom, Dad, Mom Brab, and J + C,

We greet each and every one of you with good feelings and a hearty handshake. We spent the entire day cleaning and organizing our garage. There's only days away from three significant events in our family. 1) Gwesh has decided to move back into the home, so she can concentrate on her schooling. 2.) Ryan Joseph will be baptized and given his name. 3.) We will be headed west and then east to South Florida. Please keep us in your prayers. And stay in touch.

Mom and Dad DeCamp we love you berry much and please stay in touch. Mom Brab fly down to see us all winter, we know you will, don't drive we repeat don't drive please. J + C safe travels, keep howlin' and doing what you do, God bless you and yours. HCN General Council this Saturday, wonder how that is going to shake out, rather who is getting the boot. JK. Dar is jamming on the beads, I am dragging my feet and am back on the food/exercise regimen. Thank God for preventive maintenance. I'm getting sleepy so I am going to rest. Love, peace and fry bread grease.

Good Morning Angels!

It's raining  so we're grateful our lawn will get a good long drink. I write this blog with bittersweet feelings and memories. Here goes....

Tuesday and Wednesday we traveled to Long Tail homestead to bury our Uncle/Brother. It was an honor and privilege to attend the NAC last rite ceremonies for our Uncle/Brother Phillip J. Long Tail, Sr. He was an important gentleman in our lives and among the Ho-Chunk Nation. We ourselves went to many NAC meetings with him. We will miss his wit, wisdom, knowledge of God whom he called "Great Spirit". Mostly we will miss his beautiful smile and how he would bring you to tears and then say something funny to make you laugh. While reading this blog I hope you get a good feeling about him. He leaves a legacy of  God first, love, hope, faith, and humility. Phillip was a phenomenol person! He was very humble and never eluded to the fact he was a highly decorated live combat veteran. He never spoke about that experience. He truly believed in "be seen and not heard". Tact, class and diplomacy were in his every move.

We look forward to the day when we see our Tega/Dodo again, our hearts and prayers go out to the Long Tail relatives and all mourners. We pray your mourn is easy for you.

To Phillip we say rest in peace thank you for all you gave  and shared with us.

On the way back to our homestead we received a message telling us of the passing of Sharon Street. Our prayers go out to the Street Family. God bless you Larry.

May God bless you and keep you safe until we meet again. We continue to strive for everlasting life, and work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Midwest Pow-wow Tour

God Morning shout out to our five loyal peeps. It's been almost 8 weeks since we last blogged. We have just finished our upper Midwest Pow-wow Trail. We are sitting at the mouth of Lake Erie, at the KOA of course. Before we get going on the 411 all the praise and glory goes to God our Father. We have spent time in our home area Wisconsin, saw many wonderful relatives and close friends. We spent time in Minnesota (shout out to the O'Keefe Family,Dude, you rock!) Thank you for the love, care and concern you show us. We will see you in February Kateri, stop the threats and come on down, we'll be waiting for you, Bubba and Angie. Bring Annie we'll have her cart ready to go. We had a blast at Lower Sioux, Hinckley, St Croix, Oneida, Keshena. We set up at Prairie Island and Shakopee Mdewakanton Wacipi's. Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas' beautiful pow-wow grounds and Winnebago Homecoming was and will always be a personal favorite, just because the relatives make us feel so happy. We wind up our home Pow-wow tour feeling relaxed and grounded. We have gratitude in our hearts and wish you well. (Pida Miya Leonard.) Thank you for providing the opportunity for us to do our fall/winter Pow-wow tour. Thank you for patronizing "Outstanding Little Bear" and our newest baby: "Tribal Groundz".  At Oneida Dar was the "Java Nazi" saying things like: "No coffee for you!" And I was the Craft Nazi saying things like: No craft for you!" So thank you for your prayers and well wishes. We survive on prayers everyday. We just came from Schemitzun and are on our way for much needed Mom/Dad DeCamp tiime. They are our parents and really miss, love and respect them very much.  Dar was able to run meeting for his Nini Morgan. We will be at home until Sep 14. If you are around come on over to our tipi grounds, we'll be naming and baptizing grandchildren on Sept 12 and Sept 13. God Bless you all in everything you do.

Mr. and Mrs. Darwin DeCamp

Home Sweet Home...

Good Morning Loyal Readers, it has only been six weeks since we last blogged. That should be an indication of how lively it's been in the DeCamp camp as it were. If you go to the"on the road" icon you will see that we have added a new chariot as Dar calls it. Once again it is God who blesses us everyday, we take credit for nothing. It is He who made us and not we ourselves. We appreciate all the business dealings and encouraging words you have given us regarding our new upgrade. Since ASU we went to Gathering which was a very good show, we enjoy seeing all out friends and return customers are always a treat to see. We traveled to Elk City OK for about a week and enjoyed some well deserved R & R. We then went on to Haskell for the Commencement Pow-wow and again saw our friends and relatives. We almost got blown away again in the Kansas spring weather, almost got to join Toto and Almira Gulch in the tornado air...)We got to set up next to our lil' bro Dtuffy and sis Rhonda ( shout out to the fam in Hollywood way!) We had a blast and had good eats, nice visits, and even got to hear about SOMEBODY'S heart shaped bed and toilet with no door on it, just a venetian blind! Shared Mother's Day with our lil brother and sister at Famous Dave's in Kansas City. We felt sad to leave them there as we had to keep moving northward, Wisconsin bound. We came home and Dar was able to conduct Baptismal ceremonies on our tipi grounds for our niece and grandchildren. That was a very nice warm welcome home for us. We had a nice visit from the Motlow's for our Memorial Day Pow-wow at Black River Falls. Tuesday after Memorial Day we headed back down south to pick up the Predator, and stayed in Mayetta for two days, once again got into the cusp of tornado weather, then went to 'Bago for Painter-Bearskin meeting. We arrived home Monday June 2, 2008 went to sleep and are now hitting the floor running. We just read scripture and waiting for my Dodo and Dar's Cakoro to take him out to breakfast. God bless you and prayers to you from us. I want to say thank you to God for His neverending love and compassion.

Entry for April 22, 2008
Made it through the ASU pow-wow without many incidents. All in all it was a good one. Seen some old friends that we only get to see once a year. Once again God has shown us that he'll use us to his glory. I am aware of that. Being away from home for long periods of time can be tying sometimes, but we're in Gods will at this very moment and am glad about it. Till next year, Arizona area. Right at this very moment we're back at Gallup KOA. Spent the night in Flagstaff last night, you guessed it, at the KOA. Would you be surprised to know that we have V.I.P. status? Oh I almost forgot to tell you about the government rate we got at the Days Inn after we left the pow-wow. Kathy must pull out all her cards that she has in her wallet just to find out if she can get a discounted rate. Well it must have worked this time and the clerk picked out her Tribal I.D. Government rate. I like it for her. In the morning we'll be headed to Albuqueque. Gathering here we come.
